Project Lead

Salary

£40

Project Lead (9-Month Fixed Term Contract)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Umbrella Rate: Approximately £35–£40 per hour (inclusive of holiday and National Insurance)
Interview Process: Two stages – an initial Teams interview followed by an on-site meeting
Start Date: ASAP

Purpose:
To manage the demanding requirements of a new aerospace customer for new parts through the New Product Introduction (NPDI) process.

Key Challenge:
The company is currently unable to meet the pace of demand from the new customer and requires a hands-on leader to drive delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver against an existing project plan and report progress internally and the customer.
  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to completing project activities.
  • Liaise directly with tooling suppliers to ensure timely delivery and implementation.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as SOPs and process instructions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional tasks and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Implement corrective actions and support operational improvements across departments.


Required Experience:

  • Strong background in press forming, tooling, multi-axis laser, and welding processes.
  • Solid understanding of internal manufacturing and operational processes.
  • Experience in fabrication, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical projects within tight deadlines.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive progress.
  • Practical, hands-on mindset with a focus on execution and results.

  • Seeking an individual with a “get on with it and get it done” mentality. The ideal candidate will take ownership, act decisively, and avoid over-analysing or delaying action.


Future Opportunities:
This is a 9-month fixed-term position. A permanent opportunity may arise depending on project delivery success and customer growth, potentially leading to further part number expansions.
