EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Senior Sheet Metal Worker to join a precision engineering company located in Derby, working on a permanent basis.

We are working with a reputable engineering company located in Derby, which is a globally recognised, market-leading precision engineering/manufacturing business that supports world-renowned industry leaders, predominantly within the Aerospace sector.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior management to organise work allocation, ensure safety, maintain quality, control costs, and deliver area metrics while supporting a team of over 15 members
  • Working with predominantly aluminium and various grades of steel, performing various Sheet Metal / Fabrication duties
  • Carrying out techniques such as deburring, drilling, countersinking, and forming 
  • Reshape metal materials using hand tools and other equipment, including stretch forming, press brakes and bending machines.
  • Inspecting components to meet customer specifications using manual measuring equipment 
  • Working to tight tolerances using thin-gauge materials
  • Reading and working off complex engineering drawings 



Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing / supervising / mentoring others, and working closely with management to uphold company standards
  • Strong Sheet Metal Working background
  • Previously worked in precision engineering industries, including aerospace, automotive, motorsport, rail, medical, FMCG, and general engineering 
  • Capable of working with thin gauge materials from 0.8 - 3mm
  • Ability to perform rolling, forming, bending, cutting, shaping, pressing
  • Use of press brakes, guillotines, and punch presses
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
