EMBS Engineering is working exclusively with one of our key partners, who is a market-leading specialist in manufacturing complex, medium-sized components for globally recognised, highly regulated industries.

On the back of new project wins and to aid the company's further expansion, our client is looking to hire an experienced Master Production Scheduler / Planner to take ownership of production planning and scheduling within a busy precision engineering environment.

This is a key role within the business, replacing a traditional Production Manager position and bringing structured, system-led planning to the heart of operations. The focus is on building and executing robust production schedules.

The Role

You will be responsible for creating, managing, and delivering daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and smooth execution across the shop floor. The role is highly hands-on, spending time in daily board walks and progress reviews, working closely with supervisors and machinists to keep plans on track.

You will act as the central link between production and the wider business, working closely with sales, purchasing, quality, and engineering to ensure demand, materials, and capacity are fully aligned.

What's in it for you?
  • Competitive salary - Up to £60,000 p.a depending on experience
  • Excellent benefits including: Discretionary company bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, My EAP, Healthshield care plan, Sick pay + much more
  • Hours: 39 per week, flexi time available and early finish

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
  • Lead daily board walks and production progress reviews
  • Work with sales to understand true customer demand
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure materials and sundries arrive in line with the schedule
  • Collaborate with quality to ensure they are aligned with forward plans
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to manage inputs and drive the correct outputs
  • Support and coordinate three shop floor supervisors and indirectly oversee up to 26 machinists
  • Work closely with engineering to resolve technical or capacity issues impacting delivery

Successful applicant MUST be able to demonstrate:
  • Proven experience in production scheduling or master planning within manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of machining and precision engineering processes
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • A practical, hands-on approach, ability to execute the plan, not just delegate
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Comfortable working with data, KPIs, and structured planning systems
  • Management / Supervisory experience would be advantageous but not essential

Interested?

This is a fantastic opportunity where someone can play a critical role with real influence over how the business plans and delivers work. There is a chance to bring structure and best practice into production scheduling.

So if you are a strong Master Production Scheduler / Planner who believes in using systems, data, and structure to drive performance, and want a role where you can genuinely make an impact, we’d like to hear from you.
