The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is back, and the action has been as thrilling as ever.
At EMBS we all love a bit of motorsport. We’ve supported automotive businesses across the UK for many years and we’ve become huge fans. We asked our Engineering Lead Talent Partner, Lydia Ford, to update us on the action so far and tell us what’s to come.
The 2025 season kicked off in spectacular fashion. We’ve already seen some incredible battles unfold on track, with fierce competition right from the opening rounds. The switch to 100% renewable fuels this season, coupled with the new turbo boost replacing hybrid, has added an intriguing dynamic, pushing teams and drivers to adapt and refine their strategies.
The season began at Donington Park (National Circuit, Leicestershire) on April 26-27, setting a high bar for the year. The racing was tight, with unexpected twists and turns keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The subsequent weekend at Brands Hatch (Indy Circuit, Kent) on May 10-11 delivered more of the same, with close-quarters racing and overtakes that reminded everyone why the BTCC is renowned for its entertainment value. We’ve seen some breakout performances and established champions demonstrating their continued dominance, but the championship fight remains wide open, promising an exhilarating season right to the very end.
The One Motorsport team celebrated their first podium of the 2025 BTCC season at Snetterton (May 24-25). Josh Cook delivered a fantastic drive in race three, clinching third place. After challenging qualifying sessions for both Cook and teammate Stephen Jelley, the team focused on learning from earlier rounds. Cook strategically managed his tyres in race one and then charged through the field in race two. In the dramatic reverse grid race three, Cook showcased his skill by battling his way to a well-deserved third, securing the team’s first silverware of the year. Unfortunately, Jelley’s weekend ended prematurely after an incident in race three.
The Kwik Fit BTCC calendar is packed with iconic circuits, promising more thrills as the season progresses. Here’s where you can catch all the action in 2025:
