EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to join a precision engineering company located in Northamptonshire working on a permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance powertrain components
  • Oversee engine manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Utilise CAD tools for modelling and technical drawings
  • Conduct structural analysis on components to ensure reliability
  • Collaborate with customers, teams, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
  • Apply problem-solving skills to optimise engine performance
  • Work under tight deadlines while maintaining a structured and analytical approach


Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 7 years post-graduate experience in Engine Design
  • Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) / Hybrid or Electric Powertrain
  • Proven experience in designing major engine components
  • In-depth knowledge of engine design, manufacturing, and assembly
  • High competence in CAD modelling & drawing (preferably CATIA 5)
  • Proficiency in component structural analysis
  • Experience in strategic customer liaison
