Job Title: Fabrication Team Leader

EMBS Engineering are recruiting for a Fabrication Team Leader to join a growing, forward-thinking engineering business that works on high-profile projects within the aerospace, energy, and advanced engineering sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fabricator/welder with strong leadership skills to step into a role with real progression potential.
Competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Succession plan in place for career progression towards an Operations role in 3-5 years
Oversee fabrication, welding, and pressing operations to ensure high efficiency and productivity.
Identify areas for process improvement, and implementing best practices to enhance performance.
Mentor and train staff, including apprentices, to develop skills and enhance workforce capability.
Conduct appraisals and support staff development, with training available for those new to management responsibilities.
Work closely with the Production Controller to plan shop floor activities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
Monitor and report KPIs, addressing areas such as rework, scrap reduction, and equipment utilisation.
Maintain quality control standards, ensuring all work meets internal and external compliance requirements.
Regularly communicate progress on health and safety, cost, delivery, and quality to the team.
Be hands-on when required, supporting the team in welding and fabrication tasks to resolve queries.
Participate in production meetings and liaise with senior management on business improvements.
Extensive experience in fabrication, welding, and pressing operations.
A strong understanding of production processes, lead times, and constraints.
Ability to lead, mentor, and train team members to drive continuous improvement.
Confidence in implementing efficiency improvements and problem-solving on the shop floor.
Knowledge of ERP systems (Progress Plus experience is a bonus) to plan and schedule work effectively.
Strong communication skills, able to liaise across multiple departments.
Willingness to undertake further training and progress towards an Operations leadership role.
