We are now helping our client to build their new Business Analysis function and are hiring a Technical Business Analyst to join in September. This is a long-term career opportunity with huge scope to learn, grow, and make a real impact on public transport technology at enterprise scale.

You will work in a hybrid pattern from their modern offices in central Nottingham. There will be opportunities for international travel to meet stakeholders, attend workshops, and help deliver projects that are changing how millions of people travel.

This is about working on solutions that make public transport smarter. On-vehicle ticketing, scheduling, passenger insight platforms, real-time data, connectivity, cloud, and security. You do not need deep technical expertise, but you must understand the building blocks of technology and be able to bridge conversations between business and IT.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with UK and international stakeholders to understand, analyse, and document business requirements for large-scale public transport technology solutions.

  • Work on projects involving on-vehicle and infrastructure tech such as ticketing, scheduling, passenger information, and real-time insights.

  • Create clear functional and non-functional specifications for development teams.

  • Contribute to high-quality bid and tender submissions, representing the solutions team with professionalism and authority.

  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to align teams and clarify objectives.

  • Support testing and implementation of new systems or processes.

  • Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure solutions fit the technological framework.

  • Work closely with development teams for seamless implementation.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams during development and implementation phases.

  • Conduct regular reviews of existing systems to identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organisational strategy.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Engineer, or similar role.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including with senior and international partners.

  • Ability to bridge business and technical conversations, covering software, connectivity, cloud, security, and data.

  • Experience in public transport technology is an advantage, particularly ticketing, AVL/RTPI, scheduling, or passenger information systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with tools like Excel, SQL, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI, Tableau, or BPMN software.

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.

  • Certification in relevant technologies or business process methodology such as CBAP or PMI-PBA is a plus.

What is in it for you

  • Salary up to £75,000 plus benefits package

  • International travel opportunities

  • Extensive product and technology training

  • Incredible, modern offices in central Nottingham with hybrid working

  • A collaborative, high-performing, and supportive team

  • The chance to contribute to an incredible mission shaping the future of public transport technology

Clear growth path in a global business with big expansion plans
