This is a pre-construction ownership role. You'll take projects from initial scope through design, costing and planning before handing over to the Project Manager for site delivery. Client-facing, technically credible, and commercially sharp — this is not a back-office position.

Our client is seeking an experienced pre-construction professional to take ownership of medium and high voltage electricity infrastructure projects from first scope through to site-ready, working alongside the Head of Power as the division scales.
As Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead pre-construction on MV/HV electricity infrastructure projects, preparing estimates, bills of quantities and budgets with full commercial rigour across all work packages. You will serve as the key client contact pre-site — engaging confidently on technical scope, programme and approvals — while coordinating across design, H&S, quality and environmental workstreams to keep every project moving.
You will manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, negotiating work packages for best value, and support tendering and bid preparation alongside the Head of Power. At mobilisation, you will oversee a structured handover to the Project Manager, ensuring site delivery begins on a firm footing.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate solid experience in MV/HV electricity infrastructure — across design, pre-construction or project management — together with working knowledge of ESB and EirGrid processes and Irish HV safety rules, which is essential to the role. You will bring confident estimating and programming skills, able to cost and plan a project with authority, alongside experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams. Strong, technically fluent client-facing communication and professional confidence are key, as is proficiency in MS Project, Excel and standard PM tools. A contractor background is preferred.
