Role Overview
EMBS Engineering are recruiting a Design and Development Project Engineer to join a precision and advanced manufacturing business, supporting design and development projects for customers around the world.
This is a customer-facing coordination role, responsible for overseeing project delivery, communication and planning across a range of engineering programmes, including long-term rig projects, smaller specialist packages and development work. The role does not involve direct line management of the design team, but there is genuine scope to develop into a broader project management position as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the delivery of design and development projects, from quotation through to completion, across multiple engineering programmes.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and status reports, and communicate progress to senior management.
Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and reporting as required.
Manage the flow of engineering drawings and instructions between the design team and manufacturing/assembly.
Work closely with the design and development teams to track progress and highlight any issues.
Identify potential project risks and help develop and implement mitigation plans.
Liaise with manufacturing, quality and engineering colleagues, as well as customers and suppliers, to keep projects on track.
Record lessons learned and support project close-out in line with company processes.
Essential Requirements
A background in engineering, project coordination or project management, ideally within a precision or advanced manufacturing environment.
Experience coordinating multiple projects or programmes at the same time, including planning, scheduling and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising directly with customers as well as internal teams.
A working understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
A flexible approach to changing priorities, and willingness to travel to customer sites in the UK, and occasionally overseas, when required.
A full UK driving licence and a valid passport.
