My client, a prestigious designer and manufacturer of cutting-edge testing equipment, is looking for an enthusiastic Embedded Software/VHDL Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to advanced engineering sectors, including aerospace, oil and gas, marine, and power generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a talented team to design and develop firmware and support software for both new and existing products.
Create firmware for real-time microprocessor-based systems using C programming.
Develop test specifications and procedures for both new and modified software solutions.
Engage in hardware design of FPGAs using VHDL, employing simulation and debugging tools.
Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware components.
Guarantee that all software complies with industry standards and regulations.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for embedded systems in production environments.
Required Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
Proficiency in embedded C programming.
Experience with VHDL for hardware description and FPGA development.
A solid understanding of analogue and digital hardware systems.
Knowledge of real-time embedded systems, including NIOS II softcore processor and DSP algorithms.
Familiarity with software development tools such as compilers, simulation tools, and debuggers.
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Experience with application-level programming languages such as Python, Visual C++, and Rust a bonus.
Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary range of £50,000 - £60,000.
