Salary: up to £130k + OTE

Position overview

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and nurturing long-term relationships with key clients. Your focus will be on understanding clients’ strategic business objectives and translating them into actionable plans that leverage IT systems, products, and services to drive value.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts, working collaboratively with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and expansion of business opportunities. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to manage complex portfolios and achieve impactful business outcomes.


Responsibilities
 
  • Navigate client organisations, work on building and expanding the network within the organisations
  • Translate clients' business goals and industry trends into new business opportunities
  • Create, manage, and lead a portfolio of projects focused on achieving significant business outcomes by developing new or re-engineering existing IT systems, products, and services
  • Create and maintain an account management plan
  • Track engagements and project performance against account metrics
  • Manage the completion of contracts
  • Identify new leads and opportunities within accounts
  • Support pre-sales activities related to identified opportunities
  • Take part in closing opportunities
  • Plan resources and create action plans, both during sales and throughout client engagements
  • Work closely with account management and delivery teams to manage service engagements

Requirements
 
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, project management, or consulting
  • 3+ years of experience working in service companies
  • Proven experience managing and supporting complex programs and/or product lifecycles, demonstrating a strong program/product background
  • Experience managing a portfolio valued between 8-10 million
  • Excellent understanding of environment: key players, strategies, business models, needs, challenges, and trends
  • Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle and methodologies
  • Understanding of modern technology landscape and software architecture
  • Ability to work effectively in a high risk/reward environment
  • Experience working with multinational distributed teams
  • Entrepreneurial, outgoing, detail-oriented, analytical thinker
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client offices in the UK when required
