EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for a Stores Operative to join a leading precision engineering company in Tamworth on a permanent basis.

  • Double Day Shift (Monday to Thursday: 05.50am - 14:00pm  / Friday: 05:50am - 12.40pm, Monday to Thursday: 13.50pm - 22.15pm / Friday: 12.30pm - 18.20pm

Key Responsibilities of a Stores Operative:

  • Checking stock levels and ensuring correct inventory control
  • Identifying and reporting any issues with packing or quality control
  • Performing manual stock checks (counting and recording stock levels)
  • Data entry and system updates using Excel, Office, and ERP
  • Stock control, including F.I.F.O and stock rotation
  • General stores operative duties within a precision engineering environment
  • Packing finished goods/parts according to customer packing specifications
  • Ensuring accurate labelling and documentation for despatch
  • Updating records and inputting data using Excel and ERP systems


Requirements for the Stores Operative Role:

  • Previous experience in despatch, packing, or stores within manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments
  • Strong computer literacy – able to use Excel and ERP systems confidently
  • Keen eye for detail and the ability to spot and report potential issues
  • Honest and proactive approach 
  • Efficient and well-organised working style
