Overview

EMBS Engineering is in partnership with a precision engineering company located in Northampton that is a leading specialist in the manufacturing of precision-engineered components. Due to our client's increased workload, they are looking to expand their inspection department and are therefore looking for a Quality Technician / CMM Programmer to join their growing team.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Running CMMs using PC DMIS software
  • Liaison with other departments such as manufacturing, quality, engineering, and sales to ensure delivery of conforming products
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Manual quality inspection

What experience do you need for this CMM focused role?

  • Strong quality inspection background
  • Experience programming and/or setting & operating using PCDMIs software
  • Ability to perform inspection activities (both visual and dimensional) using manual measuring equipment
  • Experience of carrying out First off and Final Inspection
  • Confidence identifying non-confirming products
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of ASME standards and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work well within a team

What do you get?

  • Salary - £35-45k per annum depending on experience
  • + bonus (OTE up to £50k)
  • + shift premium if working shifts
  • Shifts available; Days 6am or 7am start or Twilight 2pm or 3pm start
  • 5 days per week
