EMBS Engineering is delighted to partner with a market-leading advanced manufacturing company in Nottinghamshire that specialises in producing low-volume, precision-machined components for the Nuclear and Defence industries.
Our client is a well established SME that is renowned for their commitment to quality and innovation, we are seeking a Head of Business Development to lead their growth strategy and expand their presence in these vital markets.
This opportunity has arisen following a hugely successful record-breaking year where they soared to new heights. Now however, they are looking to capitalise on this and grow even further but in order to do this, they need additional support in their sales & business development from an experienced sales-driven individual with knowledge of Nuclear & MOD/Defence industries.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Head of Business Development, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and building long-term partnerships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Growth Planning: Developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
- Market Expansion: Identifying new business opportunities and markets within the Nuclear and Defence sectors, including diversification into adjacent industries where appropriate.
- Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
- Bid and Proposal Leadership: Leading bid strategies, negotiations, and proposals to secure new contracts and ensure business objectives are met.
- Brand Representation: Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our capabilities and expertise.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure client requirements are met with precision and excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you will need exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and industry expertise. The ideal candidate will have:
- Industry Experience: A strong background in business development within the Nuclear, Defence, or other safety-critical, highly regulated industries.
- Technical Understanding: Familiarity with precision-machined components and an understanding of the specific demands of low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in driving revenue growth, winning high-value contracts, and building lasting client relationships.
- Commercial Acumen: The ability to develop and negotiate commercial strategies, ensuring alignment with both client needs and business objectives.
- Leadership Skills: The capability to lead and inspire teams, both internally and externally, to deliver exceptional results.
- Regulatory Knowledge: An understanding of the stringent compliance and safety standards required within the Nuclear and Defence industries.
