Overview
EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Tamworth, that is currently in the market for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their company on a 6-month contracting basis.
This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industry and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components through various manufacturing processes including machining and assembly.
Your responsibilities as a Supplier Quality Engineer will include:
Collaborate on new projects to validate suppliers and drive continuous improvement using APQP/PPAP
Ensure supplier products and processes meet specifications, resolve quality issues, and manage non-conformances
Conduct supplier audits, drive development activities, and monitor performance
Manage supplier returns and conduct internal quality/environmental system audits

Hours: Days (Mon-Fri, 39 hours, early finish on Fridays)
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
A strong working knowledge of established Quality tools is required, including Control Plans, Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR), 8D problem-solving methodology, and Quality Operating System Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Comprehensive understanding and practical application of the five core Quality Tools:
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
You'll have a strong track record of developing our suppliers, conducting thorough audits, and effectively resolving any concerns that may arise
Certification as an IATF 16949 Internal Quality Auditor; certification as a 2nd party lead auditor is highly desirable
