Mornings and Afternoons rotating 

We are looking for a Service Hand to join an engineering company located in Tipton on either a permanent basis.

Our client specialises in the manufacture of prototypes, newly designed projects which are simply one of a kind. The components range from medium to large and are used to create complex equipment for the precision engineering sector.

Responsibilities:

  • General movement of materials, goods, and work in progress, including providing support to the goods-in process as required
  • Unloading and loading of deliveries and stock 
  • Updating ERP systems to record deliveries and maintain records
  • Carrying out stock checks and managing inventory, including communicating with internal departments to check that stock levels are maintained 
  • Carry out routine procedures and checks on equipment, including cranes, forklift trucks, MEWPs, and similar machinery
  • Regular sweeping, cleaning, and tidying of working areas/gangways
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards on the shop floor, such as emptying internal waste bins
  • Support the maintenance team as required, including carrying out DIY duties such as painting of floors, walls, doors, and skirtings


Suitable applicants MUST be able to demonstrate: 

  • Experience as a general maintenance person/handyman, or similar
  • Previous experience in maintaining stock and managing inventory 
  • Computer literate, previously worked on Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP Systems 
  • Good communication skills when dealing with customers and internal departments 
  • Good general maintenance and DIY skills
