Overview
EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in the Redditch area, that is currently in the market for a Laser Setter/Operator to join their company permanently.
This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components.

Competitive salary: £31,000 p.a (£15-£16 per hour) + Shift Premium circa £5000 p.a
Hours: 39 hours per week working the late shift; 16:30 - 02:30 Monday to Wednesday and 16:30 - 01:30 Thursday with permanent Fridays off

Your responsibilities will include:
As a Laser Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for the completion of Laser cutting operations to an efficient standard that is in accordance with the Job Card instructions provided, to achieve the required output levels that are expected.
You will:
Be able to read and understand the requirements on each job card for the operation to be carried out successfully
Demonstrate the ability to read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation - this will include Machine and tooling set up packs, engineering drawings, data cards, inspection plans etc.
Carry out process inspections that is in accordance with the requirements to ensure that developed components are confirming prior to passing on to subsequent operations
Be able to use all measuring equipment as necessary to check the components for conformance to requirements
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
At least 2 years of experience setting and operating similar machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Worked in sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas
Use and control lasers in accordance with relevant procedures
Have the ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set-up and operation
The understanding of, and safe use of, air and hand tools
Being able to set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with the relevant procedures
Be able to understand all the relevant set up parameters and what effect these have on the process

The ability to produce first offs to an acceptable level - “right first time”
