Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum

 

Our client is getting ready to replatfrom a new generations of ERP and MIS products used

across the world by public sector institutions who are driving their digital transformation,

maximising the opportunities bought about by Ai.

 

As a result they are investing in the development and management of their cloud platforms

(azure and aws). This role will involve managing the existing Cloud platforms, which are in pretty

good shape, but where things get interesting is the 2025 plan. Building out more robust, agile

and secure platforms.

 

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. In

this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust cloud infrastructures on both Azure

and AWS platforms, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for our applications. Your

expertise in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies within a software development context

will be crucial to our success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and manage cloud-based systems on Azure and AWS.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring scalability and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • Proven experience in cloud platform engineering, focusing on Azure and AWS.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps processes within a software development environment.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team setting.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant certifications in Azure and/or AWS.
  • Experience with big data technologies and data visualisation tools.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.

Position Overview:

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic

team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows administration,

managing IIS servers, and a deep understanding of Azure cloud services. As a Cloud

Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and

performance of our cloud-based products.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate directly with Development/Software Engineering and other technical and non-technical stakeholders in the design, testing, integration, and implementation of cloud hosted solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for operational and compliance goals including run books, network diagrams, change logs, and periodic reviews.
  • Test and implement standards/design patterns to ensure compatibility and integration in cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the software development lifecycle through technology enhancements supporting continuous delivery/continuous integration pipeline.
  • Identify, test, and implement enhancements and automation capabilities for data migrations, security best practices, environment builds, and operational management standards.
  • Provide leadership to engineering resources with respect to emerging cloud technologies and supporting resources.
  • Serve as lead engineering resource on proofs of concept and projects that are leveraging cloud technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Build and maintain relationships across departmental and geographical teams.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and make recommendations on changes required throughout the design, testing, and implementation process.
  • Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple projects at any given time.
  • Support the development of a structured, standardized, and consolidated set of services that optimally support business processes and applications.

 

Required skills:

 

  • Experienced in IT technologies and practices
  • Experienced in public cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) services
  • Advanced understanding of infrastructure technologies – Servers, networking,
  • storage, security, and management technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and IIS administration
  • Strong skills in scripting and automation

 

Desired skills:
 

  • Experience working with compliance regulations (PCI DSS, GDPR)
  • Knowledge of SQL database maintenance and tuning
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of.NET, Java, ColdFusion
  • Knowledge of Redis, nginx, Prometheus, Grafana, SSH
