We're working with a respected tech leader, well-known for delivering innovative products and professional services to major players in the industry. Now, they’re ready to expand their reach and bring their expertise to the mid-market sector. To make this vision a reality, they’re looking for a talented individual to join their team and help drive this transformation.

About the Company

This forward-thinking organisation has already succeeded in winning large-scale tenders and is now expanding its mid-market offering. Their goal is to make cutting-edge public transport technologies accessible to smaller organisations, driving progress in sustainability and user experience.

Join an innovative organisation transforming public transportation through cutting-edge technologies, software, and data solutions. As Business Development Manager, you’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial & Sales and the wider Product Sales Group (PSG) CCO and CRO to establish the UK sales function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of public transport, drive usage, enhance user experiences, and contribute to sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Function Setup: Establish sales processes, support the development of marketing assets, implement CRM systems (Salesforce ecosystem), and lead outreach strategies.
  • Market Development: Map the market, identify decision-makers, attend events, and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Full Sales Lifecycle: Leverage a multi-touch sales and marketing approach to generate leads (inbound and outbound), deliver product demos, complete bids and tenders, and close deals.
  • Collaboration with PSG: Utilise international best practices to build a realistic UK growth pipeline.
  • Collaboration with Marketing: Create and employ marketing materials and automation tools to support sales initiatives.
  • Future Leadership Potential: Opportunity to evolve into a leadership role as the business grows, managing a sales team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales management, specialising in complex technology products and professional services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build relationships and secure buy-in for product and solution sales.
  • Sales Expertise: Strong individual contributor with a history of creating and executing successful sales strategies.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in digital marketing, CRM systems, and marketing automation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Public transport technology experience is a plus but not essential; candidates from any technology background are welcome.
  • Consultative Selling: Skilled at identifying client pain points and delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Motivated and Flexible: Independent, self-starter comfortable with international travel and occasional overnight stays.
